All Aboard...

We went on our trip to Minot, North Dakota; we took Amtrak. We arrived at the station right on time, and then discovered the train would be departing Portland approximately an hour late. The kids were SO excited; the wait was killing them! The late departure had Mat and I a little nervous as it was somewhat reminiscent of our last Amtrak journey in 1997, which we like to refer to as our "trip from hell." Although that is another story. This journey was fantastic, and left us wondering where else we could visit by train.

When we finally got the "all aboard", Ava and Jack were very impatient with our slow boarding speed. Jack was sure the train would depart without us; Ava thought it was first come, first serve, and someone else would be sleeping in our rooms that night. Thankfully, they paused long enough to snap a photo. (Although Jack wouldn't take enough time to turn towards the camera!)

The kids loved the train!

Papa John made bows for the kids. They had a great time learning how to shoot. Both Ava and Jack are surprisingly good shots!

Friends, Kylie and Taylor Skie.

Uncle Andy's "stinky feet."

Looking for the train.

Counting the tunnels. There were 22.

The Amtrak looks like fun. I love the 2nd and 3rd pictures from the last; it looks like Mat and the kids sat at the window for a very long time. I'm glad you guys had a good trip to the midwest. You should think about moving back so you don't have to travel so far. :)
